Welcome to Riverton School Library            Riverton School Library Resources

The mission of the Riverton Library Media Center is to promote literacy and to ensure that students are effective users of ideas and information, equipped with the desire and necessary skills to become lifelong learners.

Students visit the library each week to hear stories, borrow books and learn about library resources. Literature appreciation is enhanced by yearly author visits and by our participation in two student book award programs, the Chickadee Award and the Maine Student Book Award.

Centrally located and a hub for learning, the library media center is valued by the entire school community. Students are encouraged to use the library whenever information needs arise. Resources to support the curriculum are available in a variety of formats. We work closely with students and staff to find, use, apply and evaluate information in our research instruction.

Student circulation varies according to grade level. There are no fines for late materials but students are required to return overdue materials before borrowing additional items.
