A child's first school experience is an important foundation for success and for developing positive attitudes toward learning. The kindergarten teachers at Hall School strive to provide a caring, nurturing environment where your child will enjoy learning.

Our kindergarten program provides a full day of learning in a child-centered environment. It is our philosophy that each child is unique and has an individual pattern and tempo of social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Within the kindergarten program are learning environments for children with more challenging learning styles and for English as a Second Language (ELL) learners.

Objectives of the kindergarten program are aligned with Maine State Learning Results. Focusing on language and math literacy, learning center activities cover a wide range of subjects in a hands-on, experiential approach. Students also attend art, music, gym, and computer lab classes. Through play, children learn skills that have roots in social, emotional, and intellectual areas.

A child's learning is fuller when it bridges home and school. We encourage parents to become involved in their child's classroom, and we appreciate the support and enrichment that parent classroom participation provides to our program.
